Major functions of the Car Nicobar RTOs

According to the 1988, Motor Vehicles Act, the Car Nicobar RTOs are entrusted with the following duties.

  • Issuing and renewing vehicle registration certificates or RCs for all types of vehicles paying on the state roads. This includes private, commercial, heavy vehicles, and everything in between.

  • Conducting hypothecation endorsements and termination for vehicles in the registration certificate.

How can you register your vehicle under the Car Nicobar RTO?

For any new vehicles, both private and commercial, would need to be registered with the RTOs in Car Nicobar for legal use on the city’s roads. In case you have bought a new vehicle in Car Nicobar, here is how you can register your vehicle with the Car Nicobar RTO.
