Major functions of the Chidambaram RTOs

According to the 1988, Motor Vehicles Act, the Chidambaram RTOs are entrusted with the following duties.

• Collection of road tax for the state government.
• Inspection of vehicles at check posts and other areas.
• Issuing PUC certificates to vehicles after rigorous testing.
• Issuing fitness certificates for vehicles paying on the roads of Tamilnadu.
• Issuing NOCs or No Objection Certificates for vehicles during resale.
• Conducting hypothecation endorsements and termination for vehicles in the registration certificate.
• Issuing other permits to vehicles like interstate permits, goods carriage permits, and more.

How can you register your vehicle under the Chidambaram RTO?
