Major functions of the Kayamkulam RTOs

According to the 1988, Motor Vehicles Act, the Kayamkulam RTOs are entrusted with the following duties.

  • Issuing and renewing vehicle registration certificates or RCs for all types of vehicles paying on the state roads. This includes private, commercial, heavy vehicles, and everything in between.
  • Issuing and renewing driving licenses for individuals of the state. The RTOs are also eligible to issue international driving licenses as well.

  • Issuing PUC certificates to vehicles after rigorous testing.

  • Conducting hypothecation endorsements and termination for vehicles in the registration certificate.
  • Issuing other permits to vehicles like interstate permits, goods carriage permits, and more.

How can you register your vehicle under the Kayamkulam RTO?
