To provide our services, we collect minimal information. We believe in data minimization, meaning we only collect what is necessary.

  • Information You Provide: The only personal information you directly provide is the vehicle registration number ("Vehicle Number") you wish to search for.
  • Locally Stored Data (On Your Device): To make your experience convenient, your search history of Vehicle Numbers is stored securely and locally on your device. This information is not uploaded to our servers. You have complete control to delete individual entries or clear your entire history at any time from the App's settings.
  • Information Collected Automatically for App Functionality: To ensure our App runs smoothly, we use industry-standard tools like Google's Firebase service to automatically collect certain non-personally identifiable information. This includes:
    • Crash and Performance Data (Firebase Crashlytics): We collect diagnostic information about app crashes and performance issues. This helps our developers identify and fix bugs quickly to provide you with a more stable and reliable App. This data includes information like device type, OS version, and the state of the app before a crash, but is not linked to your personal identity.
    • Usage Analytics (Firebase Analytics): We collect anonymous usage data, such as which features are most popular and how users navigate the App. This helps us understand what our users find valuable so we can improve the App in future updates.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely for the following purposes:

  • To Provide Core Services: To fetch challan details and insurance expiry status for the Vehicle Number you provide from publicly available government sources.
  • To Enhance Your Experience: To display your search history for quick and easy access.
  • To Send Helpful Reminders: We use Firebase Cloud Messaging to send you push notifications to remind you about pending challans or upcoming insurance expiry dates. You can easily disable these notifications at any time in your device's settings.
  • To Maintain and Improve the App: We use the anonymous crash reports and usage analytics to maintain the App's health, fix bugs, and make informed decisions about future features.

3. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. Your trust is paramount. Here is how and why your data may interact with third parties:

  • Third-Party Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services to operate our App:
    • Firebase (a Google service): We use Firebase for crash reporting, analytics, and push notifications as described above. Google's Privacy Policy governs their data handling, which you can review here.
  • Affiliate Partners & External Portals (WebView):

    This is a critical point of our service. Our App provides convenience links that redirect you to our trusted affiliate partners within a WebView (an in-app browser).

    • For Challan Sevaments: When you tap "Pay Challan," you are redirected to the Cars24 portal.
    • For Insurance Renewals: When you tap "Renew Insurance," you are redirected to our partners like Acko or Policy Bazaar.

    IMPORTANT: We DO NOT process any payments or collect any financial information. Any data you provide on these third-party portals (such as your name, contact details, or credit/debit card information) is collected and processed directly by them. Your interaction with these services is governed by their own privacy policies and terms, which we strongly encourage you to read.

  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court order).

4. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

We empower you with control over your data:

  • Access and Delete Your Data: You can view your search history within the App and have the right to delete any or all of it at any time. Since this data is stored only on your device, deleting it removes it permanently.
  • Opt-Out of Push Notifications: You can disable push notifications from our App at any time through your mobile device's main settings menu.

5. Data Security

We are committed to protecting your information and use appropriate technical measures to safeguard it. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

6. Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child without parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy in the App and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically.

The vehicle and challan information provided in this app is sourced from the publicly available data on the official Parivahan website (https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in). We act as an intermediary platform to make this information easily accessible to users in a simplified format.
